Matthew Mcconaughey says he wants to be considered a “dune” movie star after his breakout performance in The Martian.
In a New York Times interview Sunday, McConaghy said that “everybody was watching” his performance as the space scientist who is the subject of his next film, a follow-up to his Oscar-nominated 2007 sci-fi film.
“If I can’t be remembered as a dune man, I’d like to be known as one,” McConaughy said.
I wanted to take the time to be really grateful for it.” “
There are some things that are so profound in the dune world, and it’s been the source of so much for me.
I wanted to take the time to be really grateful for it.”
The film, directed by Andy Weir, stars Matthew McConnaughey as NASA scientist, Bruce Willis, who becomes the sole survivor of the dunes’ destruction after escaping Mars’ atmosphere and finding a mysterious object called “Dune.”
The story takes place on the fictional planet of Dune, which was once home to thousands of sentient creatures.
The film opens March 4.
