From the blockbuster ‘Finding Dory’ to the sci-fi flick ‘The Mummy,’ there’s a Disney plus movie every time you turn on your TV.
And it all starts with the most popular movie of the year, ‘Finding Nemo’.
This year, Disney added another classic to the collection with the blockbuster sequel ‘The Finding Dory’, which is now playing in more than 400 cinemas across the US and Canada.
“Finding Nemos’ success has made this an important year for Disney, so we wanted to be sure that ‘The Dory’s’ success continues to drive the company forward and allow the franchise to grow and grow,” said Bill Chappell, senior vice president, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, in a statement.
“In this year’s movie list, ‘The Fisher King’ is an immediate favorite for our audience, followed closely by ‘The Princess and the Frog’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’.”
We are very excited to see this success continue to grow as we continue to bring the worlds of Finding Nemo, Beauty and the Beasts and the upcoming Disney Junior film ‘Moana’ to life.
“While ‘The Lion King’ and its sequel ‘A Christmas Story’ will be on top of the list, other films on the list include ‘The Little Mermaid’ and a slew of new Disney classics, including ‘The Good Dinosaur’, ‘Aladdin’, ‘Maleficent’, ‘The Emperor’s New Groove’, ‘Mulan’ and more.
The list is a reflection of the growing popularity of Disney movies in recent years.”
It’s a great time to be a Disney fan,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a release.”
With more than 500 million total visitors a year, it’s hard to believe that it’s been this long since the first ‘Disney’ movie was released.
“The new film list comes just weeks after Disney’s 2017 box office took a big hit, dropping by $9 billion in the first three months of the financial year.
Despite this, Iger insisted that the company’s financial performance was a testament to its “strong, resilient and vibrant” brand.”
While this is a challenging year for many companies, the Disney brand continues to grow with every passing day,” Iger added.”
